Butt Weld Elbow – Adjusting the Flow Direction Of Fluid In Piping Systems

Butt weld elbow is a commonly used fitting in piping systems. It has a curved shape and can bend the pipe in a horizontal or vertical direction. Elbow, BW, 45 Degree, LR, NPS 6, SCH 40. Means the elbow in butt weld type, angle in 45 degree, length long radius (1.5 x diameter), thickness in Schedule 40.
A description like:
Elbow, BW, 90 Degree, SR, NPS 8, SCH80. Means butt weld elbow, fluid direction 90 degree, length in short radius (1 x diameter).

More than 90 degrees of elbow, we call it a steel bend. Like LR / SR 180 degree bend.
